In the spring of 2009 I was asked, as a favour for a friend, to design a poster to advertise a jazz music night in a local restaurant.
The lack of budget and fast approaching print deadline meant available resources and time were always going to be tight. Expensive stock imagery was out of the question, and there was no chance to line up any photography of our own, so this was very much a case of making something from nothing, ASAP.
I wouldn't describe the end result as a work of art but I feel the colours, typeface and imagery capture the intended mood well. Considering the speed at which this piece had to be completed, I'm really quite chuffed with the outcome.
