I work for a Canadian firm. I know nothing about Ice Hockey but I joined their online fantasy league as a joke. Since then, out of a few thousand players, my team has been in the top 1% of the leaderboard and my Canadian colleagues don't talk to me anymore.
Forgetting Farmville, Mafia Wars and the rest, facebook has, rightly or wrongly, become my keys means of keeping in touch. If facebook did beer, I'd never leave the house.
Some of us bear heavier crosses than others.
I'll be the first to admit that, like many, at first I didn't get twitter at all. Then I realised it was like a short-entry blog I used to have, but everyone was at it, and they're all interacting with each other. The whole concept of trending is fascinating.
